    Why choose Smart Cast as a general contractor?
    Our Nantes-based company offers off-site solutions for the construction of new collective housing to optimize the cost / quality / time triptych.
    The quality of workmanship and the aesthetic finish of the dwellings are improved while reducing the overall cost of the GO lots, electricity and plumbing / heating.
    Concretely, the process consists of bio-based shuttering panels which are printed / cut on the basis of digital design data and sold to the mason.
    The panels are associated with a prefabricated network kit (electricity and hydraulic) to be incorporated into a slab to optimize key stages of the site.
    The differentiating factor is that the hydraulic octopuses are delivered pre-cased and the feeder box pre-assembled.
    In electricity, all the duct downpipes are pre-machined which makes it possible to avoid the use of wiring boxes and therefore to pass the duct directly to the finished level.
    This is made possible by the use of permanent panels which are traced (partitions and markers) and cut according to the plumbing and electrical work plans.
    Our technology allows a single versatile team to master all stages of the production of a slab integrating networks: formwork, reinforcement, installation of prefabricated networks, casting ... For the companions, the traces on the panels and the holes guarantee a good readability and ease of installation of the incorporated networks. This promotes the versatility of teams, improves their working conditions and allows quality and deadlines to be controlled.

  • What are the plans to distribute to Smart Cast for fluid design and synthesis?

    Smart Cast carries out the synthesis of the plans for each level as the site progresses. To do this, each batch disseminates its plans separately:

    •     GO plans (formwork plan)
    •     Plans of riser reservations (if study not carried out by Smart Cast)
    •     Architect Plan
    •     Electricity layout plan (if study not carried out by Smart Cast)
    •     Radiator layout plan (if study not carried out by Smart Cast)


    We only work with 2D plans in DWG format (which can be taken from the digital model).

  • Use of the product with all types of concrete?

    The concrete used must have an S4 fluidity, whether it is self-consolidating or vibrated. It must have a minimum compressive strength class C25-30.

  • Technical advice for this product ?

    We benefit from an experimental technical advice from CSTB.

  • Training of new user companies ?

    Two half days of training are systematically planned:

    •     Half a day of implementation assistance is offered during the GO phase.
    •     A second half day in the finishing phase.
  • Shoring system to be planned during the construction phase?

    The system is compatible with modular aluminum shoring systems (spacing 13 cm max)
    Check that the installation of the shoring system complies with standard NF E8 104.
    It is forbidden to use wooden joists.

  • Modification of the coating of steels?

    The lower reinforcement ply can be wedged 20 mm above the panel.

    Justification according to Eurocode 2:
    • The exposure class is XC1
    • The structural class is S4
    • According to table 4.4.1 (Eurocode 2), the Cmin, hard = 15mm
    • In our case, the slab underside has a 12mm thick collaborating alkaline lost formwork (PH = 11). The execution tolerance ∆Cdev = 5mm. (10mm by default)

  • Fixing the Smart Cast panel to the concrete structure?
    The panels are fixed to the concrete structure by means of dovetails.
    
    Each dovetail (30 per panel) has a tear resistance of 144 Kg.
    
    In addition, the panel being porous, it naturally adheres to the concrete.
     
  • Acoustic characteristics of the product?

    The sound reduction index (Rw + C) between two dwellings must be> 57 dB.

    However, according to tests carried out with CSTB, 19 cm + 12 mm concrete slab of Smart Cast panels has a Rw + C = 59 dB

    The panel + concrete complex therefore meets the standards in terms of acoustics.

  • No layout errors thanks to the partitions drawn on the panels: How precise is the layout?

    Our special machine produces 5 mm thickness tracings with millimeter precision.

  • How do we manage peripheral games?

    Management of peripheral clearances: The panels are cut at the periphery, set back 1 cm from the plane dimension. (anticipation of a possible lack of squaring).

  • What is the fire resistance?

    The panel is classified B, s1, d0 and benefits from a fire stability test report of 1h30. The fireproof degree is ensured by the solid slab.

  • Implementation on rainy days?

    The implementation on rainy days remains possible because the inks are solvent-based in order to withstand bad weather.

    There are no special measures to be taken regarding the signs.

    In the event of freezing rain or snow, the risk is that the dovetails, which are largely responsible for the mechanical connection with the concrete slab, are filled with ice and that they cannot fulfill their role.

  • Replacement of degraded panels?

    Our experience shows that degraded panels are rare.

    A broken panel can still be put in place.

    For the replacement of degraded panels, we provide additional panels at the first delivery.

    If adjustments are necessary, the panels can be cut with a circular saw with a carbide blade with the necessary guards.

  • What routes are included?

    The routes included are:

        Partitions or rails on the front and back of the panels
        Door opening direction
        Number of dwellings on the underside
        Drowned tape with their mark
        Thermal breakers: markings and arrangement
        Landing shafts mark (AEP, EDF, ...)
        Electricity incorporation exe plans

  • Taking into account TMA ?

    TMAs can be taken into account up to 10 days before pouring the impacted level at no additional cost.

  • We provide custom incorpos in plumbing verticals.

    For each device, a ready-to-install incorporation kit is delivered to the site in a big bag.

    The incorporation kit is compatible with standard Ø64 mm magnets.

    Regarding electricity, we can provide veil incorporations on request.

  • How do the duct penetrations do in the case of a secondary joist below?

    Several solutions are possible:

        We collect a shoring plan in order to verify the descent of the sheaths and sheaths. We adjust as many crossings as possible and if there are any left, we look for a solution with the contractor who carries out the shoring plan.
        We provide our summary plan upstream and the company carrying out the shoring plan can anticipate the descents and adjust its plan to ensure that there will be no blockages.
        If there is no communication with the BE who carries out the shoring plan and a shaft descent falls on a temporary carrier with a shoring system that does not allow this carrier to be easily moved, then there are two solutions: using the layout of the partitions, analyze the situation.
