L'Usine Nouvelle and the monthly Industrie & Technologies presented on December 1st the Trophées des Ingénieurs de Demain, in order to highlight the young talents that will make the industry of the future. A hundred or so candidates have applied: young committed, open to international, entrepreneurs ... Young people who one day decided that engineer would be their job.

To finish the year, Augustin Masurel won the Engineer contractor Trophy.

Awarded to a young engineer or student engineer who has created his company, this trophy rewards the entrepreneurial qualities of the laureate, the innovative nature of the activity of his company, the credibility of the financial package and the economic and technical viability of the activity.

When Augustin Masurel talks about work, it is the new constructions that mobilize the engineer of Icam de Lille, trained at Bouygues. It must go fast, be efficient and economical. This is the stake of the company, Smart Cast, which he created in early 2015 and "it aims to industrialize the construction of concrete floors for multi-family buildings and single-family homes," says the young engineer.

Smart Cast was the subject of two patents filed in April 2015. Five others are being studied to provide additional functionalities. While concrete floor formwork has traditionally been done in a traditional way, Smart Cast makes it possible to machine a formwork sheet that is delivered to the jobsite. It combines three interests. On the one hand, it is a lost formwork plate that does not fall apart. On the other hand, this plate serves as a finished coating ready to paint. Finally, custom made in the factory, it serves as a laying template for all networks, reservations and partitions.
